The Slovenian Armed Forces presented a new Slovenian weapon.

Last Friday, the Slovenian Armed Forces, in cooperation with a consortium of Slovenian defense industry companies and the leading company Valhalla Turrets, conducted the first test firing of the Mangart 25 air defense system on the Perun vehicle and the Loki 762 weapon station on the light reconnaissance nuclear, radiological, chemical, and biological defense (NRCB) vehicle Cobra at the Bač shooting range, according to the Ministry of Defense website.

TThe development of the technological model of a light remotely controlled air defense system (turret), integrated onto the light tactical vehicle Mangart 25, is the result of Slovenian expertise. It is being developed within a consortium of five companies, led by Valhalla Turrets from Ljubljana, and is one of the most important development projects funded by the Ministry of Defense.

Today’s ceremonial signing of contracts for projects with clusters of Slovenian companies marks a milestone in the modernization of the Slovenian Armed Forces and is one of the first concrete results of efforts supported by both domestic and European funding.

Further activities and testing will follow.

After the first highly successful test firing, further development activities and extensive testing will follow to obtain the necessary certifications and achieve the final goal—the introduction of the weapon station into operational use by Slovenian Armed Forces units, according to the Ministry of Defense website.
